"Why do you need a display, Sharon?" ~ I'm sure you asked!
Well ~ I know exactly where to go for display inspiration~ my friend Deco Diva Debi (and 'diva' is used in the nicest possible way~ not the nasty at all.) Debi Ward Kennedy is an award winning retail display consultant and she does some of the most fun jobs~ her clients are retail stores, antique stores and wineries (how picturesque) and she teaches seminars. I have only seen photos of her in action at seminars ~ but the photos draw me in and I know when I get the chance I will make fast tracks to a seminar by Deco Diva Debi. She was also a contributing local artist for ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ when it filmed an episode in Well I have entered the MMP Business Recognition Award competition~ the prize is fabulous and the competition will be pretty fierce ( in the nicest way)! Quality Pink Business Women are trying to take this prize away from me.
Debi has two blogs~(actually she has more and contributes to even more~ A Blog Diva, too be sure) Deco Diva Debi, where she shares her display advice and general musings~(I love this one~Fast, Cheap, Easy is My Mantra)~ and Retreat, which is about her own antique business~ always the most awesome displays~ if you walked into her booth at Faded Elegance Antiques in Snohomish, you would have to buy everything in sight~ because it is displayed so well. Each month Debi changes the theme. The picture** above is from her "California French Style"~ ivory~ my favorite! The one below is from her "'Summer Beach Cottage' " display. Awesome, aren't they? Her August theme is 'Rue de Paris' Flea Market!(check it out by clicking over to Retreat)
Okay~ back to my reason for thinking of Debi and visiting her blogs for inspiration~ the MMP Business Recognition Awards challenge is to best display the essence of my business in a 2 foot by 3 foot tabletop display~ and I know the women of MMP are a very creative lot~ so inspiration I am needing. Gosh ~ I wish Debi lived closer................**All photos, ideas, business names and projects copyright DWK 1996 - 2008 unless otherwise credited; all rights reserved.
